Amy Jarrett Sensory Garden

In March 2011 I was asked to design a sensory garden for 10 year old Amy Jarrett. Amy has been blind since birth and has other special needs. Therefore I set about designing a garden to stimulate all her senses with sound, scent, texture and most of all a safe level environment for Amy to be more independent. Although the garden is only small the cost to build the garden ran into thousands, we set about raising funds for the project. Before long we were overwhelmed by the generosity shown, with offers of labour, materials and plants as well as monetary donations large and small.
