Project Four

Being such a tiny plot and having no soil what so ever this garden really needed some thought to give the clients the look they wanted to achieve. There were many factors to consider, one of which was privacy as the garden is next to a busy junction with pedestrians able to look straight into the garden as they walked by. We opted for the slatted hardwood screens to give privacy and staggered them so as not to spoil the tremendous views of the Estuary.

I wanted to create a garden room that really brought the inside and outside spaces together, by using the same wood and slate combination for the interior and exterior made both the house and garden flow into one another. The raised beds were designed to follow the angle and fall of the existing wall, integral seating appears to float and at night the garden comes alive with a contemporary lighting scheme.

Move mouse over photos to show the garden as it used to be.
